I'm changing the quote,
"Beauty is in the eye of the beholder"
...
It should say,
"Pretty is to the eye,
but Beauty is a light,
born from your heart and soul."
Now some call that light faith,
Some say it is the soul,
but I call it beauty.

Why? Because:

It takes beauty
To pull yourself away from the person you love,
Who will probably kill you if you don't.

It takes beauty
To hold onto someone you don't even like,
While they empty out their tears.

It takes beauty
To walk into a gun fight blind,
While someone covers your back.

It takes beauty
To wake up in the morning,
When it's time to go to your third job.

It takes beauty
To tell the someone you're pregnant,
While you're both in high school.

It takes beauty
To stand up for your best friend,
When you know you'll get beaten up for it.

Beauty is so much more than skin:
It's love,
Courage,
Strength,
Faith,
Intelligence,
Determination,
Trust,
And a thousand other things.

Now,
After all that,
You still want to look right,
Right?
You've got beauty so,
Give it a sec...
And you've got pretty too.

:3 I gotta say, it's tough to be made fun of. People try to block me from getting to spanish while they cut away at me with insults, harrassed in biology for getting good grades, and gossiped about in history by girls who lived next to me at some point. You know what though? I still tutor people in Bio when I've finished my work a full hour before it was due, walk around the people and ace every single test in spanish, and laugh with my friends in History who I've found again after a few years. But when I'm mocked while I'm singing the songs I work so hard on? First I smile, and then I let loose a song so loud that they have to cover their ears, so loud people have to stop and look, so loud that my voice is the only thing heard, so loud you can hear my soul with each note and then... I ask them to say what they have to say.
